Community Announcements ABE/GED AND ESL CLASSES OFFEREDABE/GED classes are offered by Avon Community School Corporation and Wayne Township Adult Basic Education. Classes are held at the Avon Washington Township Library on Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 A.M.— Noon and at Avon High School on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 - 8:30 P.M. Classes provide instruction in reading, math, language, spelling, life skills, GED preparation, GQE remediation, family literacy, employability and communication skills. ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered at the Brovvnsburg Library on Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. -Noon and 5:00 - 8:00 P. M. These classes provide instruction in reading, writing, conversation, life skills, and citizenship. Classes are provided free of charge to eligible students who are at least sixteen (16) years of age. Interested persons under 18 must be officially withdrawn from public school and must present exit papers at the time of registration. Anyone interested in attending any of the classes should call the Adult Basic Education office at the Brovvnsburg Library at 852-3167, extension 130, to get a registration appointment.

The YMCA is able to offer a sliding fee scale thanks to generous donors whose contributions enable us to realize our mission of being open and accessible to all. NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY DUE TO INABILITY TO PAY.
